(top) Sydney Home (bottom) Bungendore Home

This marks my fourth year living (almost) full time in Sydney. Ah wow, how time flies. In saying this, it has been an incredible three years of cultivating who I am, meeting people from all walks of life, experiencing the most unexpected things, and just in general having a blast. For those that don’t know, I am a country girl from a small country town, Bungendore (located just outside of Canberra) and moved to the ‘Big Smoke’ to start year 11 at a specialist music school in 2012.

I try so hard not take this for granted, but i must say that I have the best, I mean the BEST of both worlds. Living in the city that almost never sleeps, and then going home to complete and utter silence (except for the occasional ‘Moo’) is like comparing chalk and cheese. Every since moving to Sydney, my appreciation of the farm is so much more profound. Waking up to birds rather than ambulances, crossing the road without looking both ways rather than fearing for your life when a bus drives by, and staring at stars that are endless compared to plane flying over that you thought was a shooting star.

My parents laugh at me sometimes when I arrive home from Sydney for a weekend and I get out of the car dressed up. All of a sudden a lamb is in trouble so I run inside and change into my ripped up, painted effected jeans (jeans for a start, I do not wear) and my dads old farm shirt and BAM, good luck recognising me.

But if you were to ask me which I like better, Country or City? The only answer I would be able to give you is #youcantakethegirloutofthecountrybutyoucanttakethecountryoutofthegirl
